Soccer Season

We are in the middle of soccer season!

This is Will's first year to play, so this is the first year that all three boys are playing.

The Mowing Dance

The fellas are still mowing...

so this time I got some pics of the mowing dance.

Went for my usual evening walk...  when the sun begins to sink and everything starts to glow.  There was a hint of crispness in the air.  John and Josiah were doing some kind of new mower sport...  it looked something like chase on mowers. :)  Wish I had thought to get a picture of that!  The younger boys saw me walking and ran to join me.  We strolled hand in hand around the pond, down to the garden area, checked out the apple trees, crunched some pinecones, breathed in the scent of pine and ooohed and aaahhed about the wonders of fall - the begining of our favorite cozy season.

Then we watched the chickens walking around in the yard.  When Will picked one up, I snapped this picture with my phone...

First Fall Campfire

Last night the boys were gathering sticks so that John and Josiah could get the yard mowed today.

(It's probably been a month since the grass has been mowed...  because of the sale... and the rain... and it's been looking a bit like a jungle here!  That's ok!  It will make it easy to see their cutting lines!)

Here's some TEAMWORK getting that big branch to the burn pile.

When the younger boys saw the fire, they got VERY excited for a bonfire/ campfire...  dinner by the fire.  So, as the sun set, we gathered up an impromptu dinner of hot dogs and chili and the fixings for s'mores.  We pulled the chairs around the fire.  Lots of laughter and squeals of delight!  It wasn't long before the boys were forging "smarshmallows" in the fire of Mt. Doom!  One "smarshmallow" to RULE THEM ALL! :)

The stars began to twinkle...  we cleaned up dinner...  and then slept in our own comfy beds.  Country living ROCKS!

Here are some pictures that I got from GKS during the last two weeks.

 

Josiah got to operate the barcoding station during drop-offs this time!  He did a great job!  I really loved having him there all the time.

 

I couldn't resist...  I had to get a picture of my hubby wearing an apron!

He sure looks cute!

Shepard was SO excited to get to do a radio interview.  (He did a tv interview, too, but they didn't air his segment.  He was a little disappointed, but it was still a great experience.)

Josiah got to work carry-out again...  another great experience!

And I have to show you what Shep and Will were doing at home when they stayed with Miss Jolene on some days...  awesome fun!

 

We are incredibly thankful for another great sale!!

 

And, we are settling back in to normal life again now that the sale is over. 

I lit some candles today...  enjoyed being all together at home again!
