ACC play practice

I can't believe the play is only a few weeks away!
I love watching the boys practice and I always get tickled watching Shepard hold on to Mr. Barker's head.  (I hope Mr. Barker survives playing Tiny's Tim dad!  He sure has been patient with Shep!) :)
My phone couldn't get a very good picture in the the lighting there, but you can see how cute they are...

On the Roof

The boys wanted to get a picture on the blog of their brave roof adventure.  They were all up on the roof clearning the second story windows this weekend.

It was a wonderful joy ride until...

it turned into a major catastrophe.
Shepard and Will had a morning break from school and they were riding around the property on the golf cart - major fun for little boys - until the turn they made "malfunctioned" and the golf cart along with two little boys ended up in the pond.  No one saw it happen.  No one knew.  Until they came to the house crying and soaking wet.  No injuries... just a drowned golf cart.  Praise the Lord for His protection!  Shepard showed enormous character and presence of mind to get Will out of the pond quickly.  His thoughts seemed to be primarily to protect his little brother (who can't swim).  We are so grateful for that.
They were a little shook up over the incident, but we all shared big praises to the Lord that night that everyone was safe.

Our kind neighbors came over to help...  they have been really good to help us out whenever we get in a pinch.
The boys wrapped up in towels and watched Dad get the golf cart out of the pond from a distance.  They were still shaken up.

John had to swim out to get the seat...

p.s.  The golf cart has been repaired now and we can use it again!
(But the little guys haven't shown any interest in riding yet.)

Happy Birthday Shelley

We enjoyed having Ken and Shelley over for lamb burgers and to celebrate her birthday this week!

My hubby was SOOOO right!

And I'm GLAD to admit it!
Check out my new phone that my hubby encouraged me to get...
I've been skeptical to leave my iPhone.  I get comfortable with the familiar.  But, this was worth it!  (It would have been worth it just because I got to see my hubby do the happy dance when we walked out of the store because I wasn't using Apple anymore.  No more apple koolaid for us! :))  But besides that, this is a SWEEEEEEEEEET phone.  I love it!
Thanks, Honey!

Meet Rusty

Meet Rusty...  the newest addition to the Wasson farm!  Everything here has to have a name, you know. :)
Josiah started off driving cautious and slow - like he does everything.  He puttered around the farm like an old man, but we knew it wouldn't last.  Within a day he was driving Rusty at full speed.  The boys buzz by my office windows so fast that I can barely wave before they are gone! :)  Needless to say, they are having a BLAST!

Shepard's Birthday 2011

Little brother says that Shep's birthday is looooong...  it keeps going.  I guess that's the best kind of birthday!
Grandma and Grandpa came for a cookout and hayride one evening...

Shepard's actual birthday was all about the food!  He'd been planning his meals for weeks!
For breakfast, Sara Lee Butter Struesel Coffee Cake (yum)
For lunch, China Jade
For supper, Red Lobster (yes, he loves shrimp)

And somewhere in between all the eating he opened gifts and we sang Happy Birthday...

some sweet brotherly love...

Happy 7th Shep!

Shepard's Birthday Party

Shepard and Catherine shared a birthday party here at our house this weekend...  it was so much fun!
We ate chili and had a bonfire and a hayride.  This was the first time our kids had ever been on a hayride and they really loved it.  Shepard told me today that he loved his party so much that he wants to do the exact same thing next year! :)  Here are the photo highlights...
He had a camo cookie cake that the boys decorated with their toy soldiers...  really awesome!

S'mores are messy!

Soccer Fall 2011

Josiah and Shepard are playing Upwards Soccer with First Baptist Van Buren and they are having a lot of fun.  Here are some pictures from the games last Saturday.
