Swinging Summer

Ahhhhh...  this is summer!  I think one of my favorite (and very relaxing) things to do is to push Will on the swing.  Especially when there is a breeze in the air.  All the worries and cares of the day seem to melt away with the swooshing back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
And he loves swinging!  He is constantly asking to go swing!
He wants to go higher, more!... Smile away, Will...

It's Shepard... No, it's...

We were going out for lunch so we told the boys to go get ready.  Here comes Shepard...
No...  it's Spiderman!
Yes, he changed clothes before we left for lunch! :)

Father's Day 2010

Happy Father's Day, John!  We definitely think you are the best and we really enjoy having a day to celebrate YOU!!
Here's the parade of gifts...  I still love this idea!  (No wrapping involved! :))

We spent the afternoon at the Hoelzeman's with all of John's family and it was a great time!  Cookout and swimming...  Yippee!!  I don't have any pictures... we were too busy using our handy dandy brand-new little (and I mean "little") video camera.

Here's John with all his boys!  What a blessing they all are!
John, thanks for being such a great dad to our boys!!!

One more cookie cake for Josiah

Happy Birthday, again! :)  The Wasson side was together for a Growing Kids Sale meeting, so we were able to celebrate Josiah's birthday at lunch... and he really enjoyed being with his cousins!  (I realized too late that I did not get a picture of Josiah with his cousins...  bummer!!)

I (REALLLLLY) love this smile!!

Story Time at the Library

My kids love Story Time at the library and we have the most precious retired librarian who volunteers to lead it at our library.  Now that we are on summer break we can go!  Josiah is a little old for this group, so he played himself in a game of chess at the library while the other two participated in Story Time.  This is the first year that Will is old enough to join in...  last year I still had him sitting on my lap.  I've noticed a big change in Will ever since he potty trained - it's like he suddenly seems so much older.  For example, he wants to walk now instead of riding in the stroller and he's so determined to do everything "all by myself".  And when we go somewhere now I feel so light...  Without a diaper bag to carry around I'm constantly amazed that we can go somewhere without all the extra baggage.  It is nice, but I'm finding myself sentimental already about the bygone baby days...  they just slip right through your fingers.  Instead of lamenting though, I'm purposing to enjoy each stage of the journey and all the joy that it brings...  like watching Will and Shepard at Story Time. :)  These are precious times!!!

Happy 11th Birthday, Josiah!

Josiah turned 11 yesterday!  We had a great day of celebrating his life!
He is such a joy and we're so proud of the young man he is becoming.

One of Josiah's good friends came over for the afternoon and they had a lot of fun playing "Red Alert 3" on the computers.  They were playing in John's office while he worked and John said it was so much fun to listen to them play.  We're really grateful for such a great friend for Josiah!
Check out the smile on his face for this gift!
Jared and Josiah

The countdown to Josiah's "official" birthday status...  he was born at 8:40pm, so we had fun counting down to the exact time he was actually 11.  John told Shepard to watch Josiah and see if he changed as he turned 11...  so Shep was studying him pretty close.  It was so funny!

Cookie cake in honor of Josiah's latest favorite books - The Knights of Arrethrae

Loading up the candles!

The gifts...  what fun!!

Playing with some of the new toys...

What a blessing to have Josiah in our family!  We praise the Lord for his life!

MySaleManager.NET at NACEO

John and I had a great trip to Nashville this past weekend for the NACEO convention.  John was able to give a presentation of his MySaleManager.NET software that he developed for consignment events while we were there.  It was so wonderful to meet some of his clients and reconnect with others that we have met in the past.  And it was truly a blessing to hear so many wonderful comments from so many people about John's software and his great customer service.  I am definitely a proud wife!  I loved sharing this experience with him!  Here he is giving his presentation...
Now that we are back at home, my ever-humble hubby is already working hard to make improvements to his software.  He's already gained several new clients, too.  Driving home, we reflected on God's blessings to us and how grateful we are that God can use John's software to bless so many others!

~~~~~~~~~~~
We also really enjoyed staying with Josh and Joy for two nights in Nashville!  It was so great to see them and made me wish again that they lived closer, although I totally understand why they like living in the Nashville area...  it is a great place!  We are getting very excited to meet "Dubs"!
p.s.  The adventure trip to see Dave Ramsey's house was a blast! :)
Latest Accomplishments!
Wasson Homeschool is out for the summer break!!
Josiah just finished 4th grade!  Yeah!  Congrats on a great year, Josiah!
I pray that he continues to grow in wisdom and knowledge and most importantly a deep understanding of God's ways!
Look!  No training wheels!  Shepard learned to ride his bike without training wheels a few weeks ago!  Way to go, Shepard!
Will is potty trained!!  Yippee!
He suddenly made the switch right before we left for Vermont and he's an official "big boy" now!
(Do you see that dimple?!  So cute!)
2nd "face plant" this week
This picture is from "before"...
Here's sweet Willie's mug shot! :)  From what I understand - I didn't see it happen - he had a bicycle accident...  something about a water hose and wet pavement.  I think his face took the brunt of the fall, but he also hurt his finger and knee.  Yup...  more bandaids.  (Personally, I think the boys are in a race to see who can need the most bandaids at one time! haha)  So, anyway, now both Shepard and Will have scraped up faces...  although Shep's is healing fast.  Funny, neither one of them seem to mind - I think it's like some kind of badge of honor.  (Oh, we found out later that Shepard has a bruised/ sprained thumb after his jedi leap from the swing.)
